At QLS Advisors, we apply machine learning techniques in innovative ways to increase the efficiency of drug development and support biomedical innovation. Our work focuses on the intersection of clinical trials, biomedical portfolio optimization, and the design of new funding vehicles and business models. We’re looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to help solve some of these challenging problems and lay the foundation of our growing software platform. In this position, you will manage our code and database infrastructure and processes.

Job description

-Design and maintain the machine learning and data infrastructure that powers QLS analytics.
-Implement build, deployment, and configuration management systems.
-Work directly with software developers to develop the test systems architecture and ensure system integrity.
-Monitor metrics and introduce improvements with respect to functionality, performance, automation, reliability, and scalability.
-Provide technical guidance and drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
-Document and design various processes, and update existing processes.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

-A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
-DevOps or related software engineering work experience. (Prior MLOps experience a bonus.)
-Good interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
-Intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and the ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred qualifications:

-Experience with Linux infrastructures, Docker, relational databases and ORM frameworks (such as SQLAlchemy), CI/CD tools, Git workflows, parallel computing, and a deep knowledge of Python.
-Experience working with Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar cloud computing platform.
-Up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry trends.
